MR55 type SCREW SCREEN, designed for small flow rate water treatment plants, requiring a fine screening of urban and industrial waste water.
It alternates fine screening, solid conveying and dehydratation-compactation functions. The waste is retained in the filtering mesh where a conveyor screw performs its cleaning operation via a rake system which, in turn, takes the waste to the top part so that it can be discharged subsequently.
It is the first mechanism after the isolation gate that is installed in the inlet channel of a Waste Water Depuration Plant, like any other roughing screen bar.
The main characteristic of this unit is that it combines several functions, thereby avoiding the need to install complementary equipment. First of all it performs the fine roughing, conveying and compacting-dehydrating functions.
It is a monobloc unit, which makes it much easier to install on site. It is also made inside a metal module with a flanged connection, thereby avoiding any public works construction.
Descriptions and characteristics:
Filtering Body. Made from stainless steel and consisting mainly a filtering mesh of 3 mm pitch.
Conveying channel. Made from stainless steel plating. The top part is closed off by screwed down covers which, when disassembled, make it easy to inspect and clean the unit. The anchoring feet which incline the channel, are attached at the end thereof.
Worm screw. This is a coreless conveyor screw, where the lower part has a greater diameter and there is a brush backing onto its periphery, which is used to clean the filtering area. It is made from carbon steel and in stainless steel. The top part has a smaller diameter and its purpose is to convey the waste to the top discharger. When it rotates, it bears on a cradle of anti-wear polyethylene.
Drive unit. Consist of a motor reducer unit that is directly fastened to the feed screw.
Compacting chamber. This is located in the top of the unit and essentially consists of a high resistance filtering cylinder.
